Where to go shopping in Malaga: stores and markets

The shopping in Malaga is as diverse and vibrant as the province itself: whatever you are looking for, you are sure to find it there!

The shopping in Malaga is as diverse and vibrant as the province itself: you will find a wide variety of places to shop, from traditional markets to exclusive high-end stores. Whatever you are looking for, you are sure to find it in Malaga!

Below are some of the best places to go shopping in Malaga: the entire province has a lot to offer every taste and budget. Don’t hesitate to explore its streets and discover the stores and boutiques you like most while you enjoy the charming environment.

Calle Larios

calle larios

Calle Larios is the most famous street for shopping in Malaga. Pedestrianized since 2002. It is a street that has traditional, elegant architecture, giving it a special allure. Tourists and residents can enjoy a pleasant stroll down it while visiting a broad selection of establishments with fashion and footwear, jewelry stores, gift stores and exclusive boutiques.

The commercial offering is not limited to just this street; in the surrounding areas you will also find many options for your purchases. For example, Calle Nueva, Plaza Félix Sáenz, Calle Puerta del Mar and Calle San Juan house many establishments, from stores specialized in bridal fashion to shoe stores with years of history, or traditional businesses selling snacks, sweets and french fries.

In the center of Malaga you will also find the Mercado Central de Atarazanas, returned to its previous splendor through recent remodeling. This covered food market is paradise for gastronomy lovers: inside it you will find a great variety of fish, seafood, meats, fruits, vegetables and cheeses, as well as delicious traditional pickled products from the city, artisanal products and souvenirs. If you want to take a break, you can also have a drink at the market itself.

Port of Malaga

The area around the port of Malaga has become an impressive open shopping and restaurant area by the sea, where you will find family-friendly options. The Muelle Uno mall is a perfect combination of stores, restaurants and coffee shops where you can walk, shop or have a drink while you enjoy the incredible views of the city and the port. Whether you come to Malaga by cruise ship or from the city center through Palmeral de las Sorpresas, the Muelle Uno mall offers an experience that is both accessible and varied.

At Muelle Uno, there is also a cultural venue: the Centre Pompidou Málaga, the first provisional Centre Pompidou opened outside France. There you can visit the works of reference from the well-known French museum of contemporary art and access workshops and multidisciplinary experiences. If you’re in the area at sunset, why not enjoy a pleasant boat ride to watch the sunset? Whatever your preference may be, you will find it at the port of Malaga.

Puerto Banús

If you’re looking for an exclusive, glamorous experience, Marbella’s Puerto Banús is an essential destination, with all of the world’s most iconic fashion brands.

On the Muelle de Ribera and surrounding areas are boutiques and high-end stores that need no introduction, such as Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Ferragamo and Bottega Veneta, among others. Do you love shoes? Don’t leave without taking a look at Jimmy Choo or Valentino. If your style is more sporty and relaxed, you’re sure to find something you like at Philipp Plein. And if you’re looking for something designer, but more affordable and down to earth, under the name Stella Rittwagen you will find the designs of malagueña Estela López Cañete.

In the surrounding areas there are multi-brand stores like Elite Man, where you can find designs by Missoni, Balmain, Elie Saab and Kenzo, among others.

If you love jewelry and watches, in Puerto Banús there are exclusive brands like Cartier and Bulgari alongside more affordable brands like Tous and Majorica.
