Partying in Madrid

When the sun goes down, the fun continues at Madrid’s bars, clubs and lounges.

Did you know that Madrid is known as the city that never sleeps? After enjoying its excellent gastronomy, where traditional dishes are enhanced with modern perfection, it’s time to experience a night in Madrid in the city’s most authentic neighborhoods. There are so many nightlife options: you can start with an enjoyable play or having a beer on a terrace and end up with chocolate con churros in San Ginés. However, if you want to see the authentic spirit of Madrid, nothing beats a visit to the popular Pradera de San Isidro or enjoying a summer night at its lively open-air dances.

Bars and pubs on Huertas street

Located in the middle of Barrio de las Letras, Huertas street is one of the best nightlife areas in the capital. This is because any day of the week, without fail, you will be able to find yourself in a lively, cosmopolitan atmosphere, and because of its broad cultural offerings: tapas bars, flamenco shows, clubs with live music and rooftops with spectacular views of the city where the best DJs play. The enchanting Plaza de Santa Ana has one of the most emblematic drama centers, Teatro Español, surrounded by lovely gastropubs where you can enjoy a signature cocktail after the play.

Flamenco show

Flamenco is a highly-regarded genre in the capital. It is originally from Andalusia and was granted World Heritage status by UNESCO. Because of this, Madrid is said to be the largest flamenco stage in the world, because for years, in the capital, flamenco shows have been available every day in theaters and small recitals in lounges and on stages. The most popular one is Corral de la Morería, considered by the New York Times to be the world’s finest. This is where Ava Gardner went every night when she lived in Madrid.

Café Berlín

Jazz, rock, flamenco… In Madrid there are concerts every night. If you like live music, make sure to review the billboard at Café Berlín. This legendary venue is part of the city’s musical, emotional and nocturnal memory. For decades, its name has been synonymous with the best music and the longest, liveliest nights in the capital. In this mythical space you will find shows for every taste: from new talents to bands well-established on the music scene.

Discoteca Kapital

This magnificent club showcases the country’s nightlife culture and is a required visit for anyone going to Madrid and looking to enjoy a night out partying. Built on an old theater on Atocha street, Kapital has seven floors with different atmospheres and music styles: house & dance music, karaoke, reggaeton and generational hits in an elegant and stylish environment. The sixth and seventh floors belong to restaurant Quinto Elemento, an experience of gastronomy that transcends food itself to offer a complete sensory journey.
