Where to shop in Ibiza: shops and markets

Let yourself be seduced by Ibiza’s hippie chic style.

Ibiza is a magnet for shopping lovers. From its lively hippie markets to elegant boutiques, the island’s creations ooze with character. Discover the iconic Adlib fashion, as well as local crafts, including the exquisite ceramics of Sant Rafel, and the delicious variety of gastronomic products. Temptations for all tastes and pockets that you won't be able to resist.

Hippie markets

One of the island’s tourist attractions is the hippie markets. Here you can find clothing, jewelry, works of art, musical instruments, antiques and exotic objects from different parts of the world. The most emblematic of these is the Mercado de las Dalias, which is open all year round, though you have to pay attention to the schedules because they change. This wonderful bazaar, which began in 1985 with five stalls, today has more than 250 exhibitors and a wonderful gastronomic and musical offer  .

Dalt Villa

Dalt Villa is how the upper area of the historic center of Ibiza is known. A very pleasant plan for summer afternoons is to walk through its cobblestone streets and stop at the fabulous craft shops where you’ll find unique pieces of jewelry, bags, shoes or the authentic adlib fashion, clothing inspired by the traditional dress of the island, with top quality fabrics and embroidery.

Adlib Fashion

Adlib fashion began in 1971, inspired by the traditional dresses of Ibizan women and the hippie aesthetics of the time. Its motto is: "Dress as you want, but dress with taste." Nowadays, Adlib garments are a creative reference on the island and recognized on international catwalks. They are particularly noted for their use of natural fabrics such as linen and cotton, the predominance of white, and loose, comfortable lines. Adlib clothing can be found in establishments and hippie stalls throughout the island, though if you’re looking for something special, we recommend Charo Ruiz's designs.

Avenida Vara del Rey

The Paseo de Vara del Rey is fully pedestrianized, and is the center of Ibizan life, with multiple shops, restaurants, bars and terraces, where you can relax and enjoy the good atmosphere. On this avenue you’ll find a huge selection of luxury boutiques selling the best Spanish brands. Also, throughout the year, the promenade becomes the main stage for all kinds of events: markets, craft shows, book fairs and Christmas concerts.

Barrio de La Marina

In the commercial area of La Marina, you can find all manner of shops, from traditional establishments to luxury stores, as well as the famous hippie markets. You mustn’t miss the Old Market and its surroundings, a meeting point full of bars and terraces, where gastronomic events are held throughout the year, such as Peixets al Port and Sabors d'Eivissa, where tastings are given to the public..

Mercat Nou

This market opened in 1978, and is perfect if you are interested in the local cuisine and want top quality fresh produce. Its stalls sell fish, meat, fruit and vegetables from the island, with close and personal attention. Then there are the surrounding streets of Castella, Catalunya and Avenida Isidor Macabich that complete the shopping experience with stores selling clothes, gifts and homemade artisan sweets.

Sant Jordi Market

The Sant Jordi market takes place on Saturday mornings at the old racecourse in the town of Sant Jordi, about three kilometers from the city of Ibiza. This market is a must-visit for those looking for second-hand or vintage bargains. With a pleasant cosmopolitan atmosphere, you can buy items of all kinds: records, books, furniture, clothes, suitcases... You can also enjoy a snack at the bar and listen to the percussion sessions offered at midday by musicians who gather on the stands at the venue.
