    If you are traveling as a tourist, you do not need a visa as long as your stay does not exceed the permitted thirty days. However, you will need to present a valid passport, a round-trip ticket, the address where you will be staying, and proof of your financial means to cover expenses.

  • Do I need health insurance to visit Cap Cana?

    It is not mandatory, but it is recommended to purchase travel insurance that also covers medical assistance, including hospitalization and repatriation if necessary. It's worth noting that public hospitals in the Dominican Republic do not have the same advanced equipment as those in Western countries. Additionally, private clinics can be very expensive.

    The country's health authorities do not require any special vaccinations or precautions for traveling to Cap Cana. The main risks are related to mosquito-borne diseases, so it is advisable to wear light long-sleeved shirts and pants, as well as protect yourself with a hat and insect repellent.  

    Vaccination against hepatitis A and tetanus is recommended. It is also advisable to take preventive medication for malaria, as although the risk is low, it is a very serious disease.
